Rustom Padilla Interview with Mariel Rodriguez on Paparazzi (Video)
After his failure to penetrate the modeling scene in New York, Rustom Padilla or now known as BB Gandanghari comes back to Manila.
And to kick-off his local TV exposure and probably a TV5 project soon, BB granted his sister-in-law Mariel Rodriguez, a guest co-host in TV5's showbiz talk show Paparazzi last Saturday, a one-on-one-no-holds-bar interview where he talked about his rumored sex-change, his failed modeling career abroad and the chance to come face-to-face and work with his ex-wife Carmina Villaroel.

On his rumored sex change.
“Whatever you’re seeing now is a manifestation of how I really feel deep inside. And I’ve made decisions in my life and I guess the best decisions I’ve made. It made me surer, it made me happier, more peaceful. I have peace of mind.
“But I hope you will forgive me if I don’t wanna talk more about it. Because whatever is in between my legs is my own private thing. And hopefully my partner’s.”
On his modeling experience in New York.
“I walked six miles in the morning and six miles at night. I do yoga, everything. Tapos there was a time na nag-ahensya ako. Tapos sabi lang sa’kin, ‘You can’t just fit in the dress. So if you think you can fit in the dress, come back to us.’ Ang lola, ‘day, kailangan na ‘yung cleansing, for 24 days. I did that. I was 140 when they said that to me. I went down to 115. Konting disiplina lang po!
“Pag hindi ka gagalaw, walang gagalaw for you…at bawal magkasakit… I was with my dogs… I’m taking care of them. So kahit blizzard siya, ‘day, every morning, nandyan ako sa kalye’t nilalakad ko ang aso ko.”
On being an androgynous model.
“I was considered an androgynous model. Basically it is gearing towards genderless fashion. Ang dami ngayong modelo sa New York na lalake pero kinukuha sila to model female clothes… Kung ang ordinaryong babae will prove herself 100 percent, we have to prove ourselves 200 percent or even more.”
On meeting ex-wife Carmina Villaroel.
“I’m ready to face anyone.
“Parang gusto kong sabihin kay Carmina, don’t flatter yourself, charing! Loko lang.”
On Carmina's husband Zoren Legaspi.
“Ang ganda ng pagkaka-blow dry ng buhok.”
On future acting plans.
“I miss acting. I just want to work as an actor here.”
On his haters.
“No comment. Honestly, no comment. I don’t wanna say anything na possible pang pagsimulan ng sama ng loob. So no comment.
“Either you’ll love me or hate me.
“Dun sa mga nagmamahal sa akin, tumatanggap sa akin, maraming maraming salamat. I don’t feel any different from any of you guys I’m just unique as you are unique. So let’s just embrace our uniqueness and respect our uniqueness let’s avoid hate.”
